The Victron MPPT 250/70 SmartSolar charge controller harvests the power generated from your solar panels and intelligently charges your leisure batteries. All Victron MPPT charge controllers perform this function efficiently whilst protecting your leisure batteries from overcharging. The SmartSolar functionality allows you to connect directly to the Victron Connect app via Bluetooth to adjust settings and monitor performance over time.

By constantly monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) panels, MPPT technology wrings every drop of available power out of your panels. The advantage of this is most noticeable when the sky is partially clouded, and light intensity is constantly changing. MPPT charge controllers are much more efficient than PWM charge controllers and we recommend them for most off-grid applications such as campervans, boats and off-grid tiny houses.

Smart functionality
The SmartSolar range of MPPT chargers features Bluetooth so you can wirelessly monitor your solar charge via the VictronConnect App (downloadable from the Play store on Android and the App Store on iOS).

Load output
The intelligent load output function prevents damage caused by running batteries ‘flat’. You can configure the voltage at which SmartSolar disconnects a load – thereby preventing excessive drain on your batteries. And here’s the clever bit: SmartSolar will attempt a 100% recharge every day. If it can’t – during periods of poor weather – it raises the disconnect voltage, daily, until it achieves success. We call this feature BatteryLife because it maintains the health of your battery and extends its life.

Connection Points
This charge controller has MC4 connection points, so any solar panels with MC4 connectors can simply plug straight into the MPPT.
